Exhaust Silencer Removal(s)

Exhaust Silencer Removal(s)

I had the help of my brother on this one – we managed to squeeze this in after work on day!

Using an angle grinder, we cut the original exhaust section at the specified lenghts and removed the rear section on my exhaust. The next part involved using exhaust clamps to secure the new exhaust on to the car however, due to the tight fit, it did take some patience before it was secured and re-attached to the exhaust mounts.

A few weeks after this, we removed the middle silencer which involved virtually the same process.

One issue we did find is the new exhaust section had exhaust mounts but did not have the stoppers on the end – about a month later I heard something start scraping from underneath my car and upon investigation my exhaust had slipped out the rubber mounts and was resting on the exhaust brace! I secured this using a few cable ties to leverage tension ensuring it can’t slip out again.
