I ended up doing this job whilst I was camping which definitely added a couple of additional hurdles to an already challenging task. I did quite a bit of research beforehand and quickly discovered one of the bolts that hold each headlight in is conveniently placed behind the engine bay subframe… meaning the only way to remove the original headlights was to take the entire front end of the car off.
As with the majority of work I do, the only prior experience I have doing this was through the videos and forums I read through online so it was a massive learning experience as a whole which I really do enjoy!
After putting everything back together, testing the headlights for the first time definitely confirmed how happy I was with the final outcome.
One thing I didn’t take into account was that because I had to import the headlight units from Germany (and they drive on the other side of the road), the headlight beam levels were essentially reversed to what it should be on UK roads. Thankfully the adjustment was a very simple thing to do.
