On my trip back from Cornwall recently, a flashing glowplug light accompanied by a check engine light appeared around 3 hours into the journey. I noticed no change in performance apart from a slightly higher engine idle and after pulling over and plugging in my OBD reader, the code given was P0544.
After doing some research, the culprit looked to be sensor G235. The issue I had was that there were many variations of this sensor, giving me many different OEM codes that all looked to fit my car. I sent an enquiry to a parts dealer that had these sensors for sale and provided my VIN alongside this – they confirmed the correct sensor for my car and I ordered it that day.
I also needed a slotted deep socket which I purchased too as the sensor housing restricts access. I plan on fitting it this weekend and will update this with the brief!
To be continued…
